Where are all the cool people at!?!

Where I spend my days there are a certain number of "cool people"...
they wear what's cool, they act like they know they are cool,
and attend parties regularly where people know they are cool.

Yet, I find these people the epitome of "uncool".
They act as if they own this small world we live in, as they know everyone.
But then, you ask them what they think about music or you ask them what they think about art or what they do for fun...
and it's always the same.
They think what everyone else thinks and they drink, every weekend, as if they don't know else they could be doing.

These people bore me!
I'm finding it difficult to find people that have their own opinion.
That dress the way they want, that think the way they want.
People that never like something or hate something because it's cool

My new and exciting friend Tegan is a bit like this.
Some may call her waky or crazy, but boy is she fun.
She dresses her own way, she likes just what she likes,
dances the way she dances and does whatever.

But it seems, on the coast, people, like Tegan, are a dying race.

Where are all the REAL cool people at?
Alas,
hopefully my move to a more cultured city will help me meet people, that are just like,
that really, in all honnesty, don't give a shit about what anyone else thinks...

(I would really like to secretly investigate that junk yard down the road from my house though...)

Stranger Danger

What's the most dangerous kind of stranger???

Photobucket

The seemingly awkward yet strangely attractive male, sitting across the table, at that party on Saturday night. As you sit there, glancing at the coupled strangers, stretching out on one another's laps, you notice this strange boy in a very convincing Joker costume. He, at first glance, appears to be a very tall, scary, psycopath - with his ruby red lip stick and lab coat. Yet, then he smiles at you at your initial fears seem to melt away by that grin. As he makes intellegant, drunken conversation to the prision convict and man in cow suit, next to him, you slowly make your way to the dance floor, to grab your second (whatever you drink) and begin to sway from side to side to the beat of the new 1901 Phoenix remix. You move, he follows....

Next thing you know mr tall dark and somehow handsome pushes through the curtain, into the "Rave Cave" and proceedes to sidle up to you - as if the music's beat lead his feet to yours...

You dance for a while and exchange names before you decide to take a stroll by the parked cars outside, filled with hot steamy, hopefully not under-aged couples, in their back seats.

You sit on the drive way, and talk about the way the world is and how you are going to take it by storm. You laugh, giggle and smirk. Then, what you've secretly been hoping for, for most of the night, he leans in for a perfect kiss.

This evening would be that of a "perfect date", but alas it is nothing more than another boy at another party...

and so he is the stranger that lifted you off your feet and broke your heart within the space of 24 hours.

Stranger Danger!!! - kissing at parties is strictly prohibited!!!

Welcome to my Rut...

"Why can't we still see each other!?!" he exclaims.
"Because we are in a rut!"

Photobucket

The dreaded word that fustrates me more than a four hour long maths exam
and distresses me more than financial stability...

Must we eventually give into the rut?

For those who are fortunately lucky enough to not know what The Rut is...
A Rut is the mundane, day-in day-out routien,
> which may consist of every night sitting on the couch, watching repeats of the simpsons and brushing your partners hair,
> Or the weekly routien of "the usual" down at the local pub, with the boys.

In a world where there are so many cultures, places to see, people to meet, how is it that we get so bolted down with this safe, mundane routien.
It's as if the entire world has decided to take on the ideals of that of an Existentialist....

And alas this is what I fear the most!
When ever I'm sitting in the passanges seat of an small, moving vehicle, and watch the luscious fields, flowing rivers and mysetrious forests go past I feel like screaming STOP! I need to see this. I need to feel it.

And yet, my chauffer keeps on driving, as if their only thoughts are, "The beauty can wait. Quick, let's get back to the rut before something way too exciting happens!"

Unfortunately, it is such a thing as The Rut that has ruined many of my relationships.
Why are we always so bored, when there's so much to do?!?

Photobucket

So, I plead this....
Good readers of internet blogs, artists, future politics, nerds, whom ever you are...
If you feel the same as me. You see the world and want to frolic in it with another...
You want drink from streams, skinny dip in every coast...
streek through sun flower fields and kiss and fool around in long grass....
Comment this blog!!!!!

I need my faith restored that others see the world around us and don't want to miss it either!
I wanna finally meet an adventurous man that actually likes to climb mountains and explore junk yards.

Where's your sense of adventure gone!?!
WE MUST ESCAPE THE RUT!
